The measuring principle is based on the property of aromatic hydrocarbons to absorb radiation at a certain wavelength and emit light in a longer wavelength range – to fluoresce. This allows the selective determination of aromatic hydrocarbons, as well as the determination of the total content of trace amounts of oil or hydrocarbon fractions, provided that the composition of the pollutant is constant.
The light emitted by the source, after passing through the measuring cell, is fixed by a highly sensitive photomultiplier. The reference photosensor compensates for fluctuations in the intensity of the light source. A water temperature sensor is installed for automatic temperature compensation.
Designed for continuous determination in water of traces of oil, petroleum products, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, phenol, BTX fractions.
